Distinctly Elizabethan in character, typical of a certain workshop genre located within the prosperous 17th century city of Leeds and its environs. Having a quadruple-panelled hinged lid, and three front panels each inlaid with a variety of plants issuing from a small hummock, the central panel also with twin birds, good original spandrels and twin panelled sides.
