Probably made for a casket or book cover, worked in coloured silks, metallic threads, coloured metal purl and seed pearls on a satin ground, depicting the figure of Hope within an oval cartouche, foliate fleur de lys to the four corners, silk mount, bird's eye maple frame, glazed, dimensions of embroidery only 11.7 cm high, 9cm wide
