Designed with a scaly sea creature, within a roundel and pointed-leaf spandrels, framed, panel only 24.2cm high, 32.5cm wide
For a pair of oak polychrome panels with similar sea creatures see the National Library of Wales Collection and illustrated Richard Bebb, 'Welsh Furniture 1250-1950', Vol.I, p.206. They were originally part of a decorative interior scheme which included the arms of Kyffin, either from Maenan Hall or Plas Maenan, near Conwy. See also the V&A Collection, London, item W.32-1933, for panels from the same interior
