Oil on canvas. For Francis John Browne (b.1754, d.1833) of Frampton, Dorchester, Dorset, Sheriff of Dorset 1783-4, MP for Dorset 1784-1806. Married Francis Richards of Long Bredy in 1796.

The arms: argent on a chevron sable three escallops or, between three cranes close azure (Browne of Frampton), impaling ermine on a bar azure four lozenges or, between two bars sable (Richards of Long Bredy), beneath a helm, torse and hare courant argent, all within mantling gules and argent, vacant motto.

Dimensions include 'ebonised' moulded frame.
